HALO 90 Å C18 is a high-speed, high-performance liquid chromatography column based on a new Fused-Core® particle design. The Fused-Core® particle provides a thin porous shell of high-purity silica surrounding a solid silica core. This particle design exhibits very high column efficiency due to the shallow diffusion paths in the porous shell. The densely bonded, extensively endcapped dimethyloctadecyl stationary phase of HALO 90 Å C18 provides a stable, reversed-phase packing that can be used for basic, acidic, or neutral compounds.
Available in 3 particle sizes:
- HALO® 2 µm columns can meet or exceed the performance of most non-core sub-2 µm columns at pressures one-third to one-half the back pressure under the same conditions
- HALO® 2.7 µm columns can meet or exceed the performance of most non-core sub-2 µm columns at pressures one-third to one-half the back pressure under the same conditions
- HALO® 5 µm columns match the performance of totally porous 3 µm columns at roughly half the back pressure under the same conditions
The HALO® C18 HPLC column from Advanced Materials Technology is a highly versatile reversed phase column designed to deliver exceptional performance across a wide range of analytical applications. Utilising a dimethyloctadecyl (C18) ligand – classified as USP L1 – this stationary phase remains the most widely used in HPLC due to its ability to provide excellent retention and selectivity for hydrophobic compounds. The HALO® C18 column is manufactured with 90 Å superficially porous particles (SPP) and is available in 2 µm, 2.7 µm, and 5 µm particle sizes, offering high efficiency, low back pressure, and outstanding reproducibility.
Renowned for its universal applicability, the HALO® C18 column delivers exceptional peak shape and resolution for acidic, basic, and neutral analytes, ensuring highly reliable and reproducible chromatographic performance. This C18 HPLC column is suited to a broad spectrum of applications, encompassing pharmaceutical (including USP methods), clinical, food and beverage, and industrial analyses. Combining Advanced Materials Technology’s innovative Fused-Core® particle design with carefully optimised surface chemistry, the HALO® C18 column offers consistent, high-efficiency separations across a wide range of reversed phase methods.
