YMC-Pack Pro C8 Analytical HPLC Columns
YMC-Pack Pro C8 is one of YMC’s most commonly used bonded phases and an excellent alternative to C18 selectivities. Due to its moderate hydrophobicity, retention times tend to be shorter than those for ODS phases. YMC-Pack Pro C8 is suitable for a wide range of sample types including pharmaceuticals and biologicals with a relatively high hydrophobicity.
YMC-Pack Pro C8 columns are designed to offer a versatile balance of retention and selectivity for a wide array of compounds, especially basic and metal-chelating substances. These columns utilise a moderately hydrophobic octyl-silica bonding that provides excellent performance in both conventional and demanding applications. Ideal for use in pharmaceuticals, environmental sciences, and food safety analysis, the YMC-Pack Pro C8 columns stand out for their robustness and chemical stability.
Features
- C8 stationary phase with USP L7 classification
- The C8 bonded phase offers less hydrophobic interaction than C18 making it an excellent choice for faster analyses without overly prolonged retention times
- Specially designed to reduce peak tailing and improve the resolution of basic compounds, thanks to advanced endcapping technology that minimizes silanol interactions
- The silica base material has very low metal content reducing the risk of chelation or other interactions that can affect sensitive analyses
- Suitable for separating a broad spectrum of compounds, including peptides, nucleic acids, and other small to medium-sized molecules
- Available in fully porous 3 µm and 5 µm particle sizes, and dimensions ranging from microbore up to preparative scale
- Guard columns protect the analytical column and help to extend its lifetime
