Daicel CROWNPAK Crown Ether Chiral Columns

Daicel CROWNPAK CR(+) and CR(-) columns are packed with crown ether chiral stationary phases. They are designed for separation of chiral amino acids and other small molecules containing a primary amine group on the chiral centre.

CROWNPAK CR-I(+) and CR-I(-) feature immobilized selectors to extend the range of solvents used for mobile phases, enhancing enantioselective resolution of chiral compounds.

Features

  • Chiral recognition achieved when a complex is formed between the crown ether and an ammonium ion (-NH3+) from a sample, under acidic conditions
  • Can resolve amino acids and compounds bearing a primary amino group near the chiral centre
  • With CROWNPAK CR(+), the D-form of amino acids always elutes in first position, using CROWNPAK CR(-) will result in an inversion of the elution order
  • Use of the immobilised CROWNPAK CR-I(+) & CR-I(-) selectors allows a wider range of solvents and also provides longer column life time
