Agilent Captiva EMR PFAS Food cartridges are specifically tailored for analysing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in food samples. These cartridges offer a quick, efficient enhanced matrix removal (EMR) passthrough cleanup, which follows standard QuEChERS extraction and eliminates the need for traditional dispersive solid phase extraction and WAX SPE cleanup.
Captiva EMR PFAS Food cartridges effectively remove various matrix interferences - such as carbohydrates, organic acids, pigments, fats, and both hydrophobic and hydrophilic matrix co-extractives - while delivering high recovery and reproducibility for PFAS compounds. The passthrough cleanup method provides over 90% extract volume recovery, supporting post-concentration to achieve the necessary ultra-low limits of quantitation (LOQs) in food. These cartridges ensure low PFAS background levels, enhancing method selectivity.
Two cartridge options are available for different sample types:
- Captiva EMR PFAS Food I is ideal for fresh produce and other fresh processed matrices
- Captiva EMR PFAS Food II is best suited for animal-origin foods, dry plant foods, and other complex matrices
