Shodex Anion Exchange HPLC Columns

Shodex anion exchange HPLC columns have either strong or weak functional groups and are suitable for the separation of large biomolecules such as proteins, peptides, DNA, and RNA. Three different polymer-based anion exchange columns are available.

  • EC QA-825 has a strong quaternary ammonium group and is suitable for analysing relatively high molecular weight compounds.
  • IEC DEAE-825 has a weak diethylaminoethyl group and is suitable for the separation of acidic proteins because the pKa of the ion exchanger is about 7.8.
  • Asahipak ES-502N 7C also has a weak diethylaminoethyl group but with polyvinyl alcohol as the base material to offers a different separation pattern to IEC DEAE-825.
