Shodex Cation Exchange HPLC Columns

Shodex cation exchange HPLC columns are polymer-based and come with either strong or weak functional groups for the separation of biomolecules.
IEC SP-825 and IEC SP-FT 4A columns contain a strong cation exchange resin with a sulfopropyl functional group. These columns can be used at a wider pH range because the pKa of the ion exchange base is 2.3.
IEC CM-825 and Asahipak ES-502C are packed with a weak cation exchange resin with carboxymethyl as the functional group. These columns are suitable for the separation of basic proteins because the pKa of the ion exchange base is 5.7.
CXpak P-421 is a strong cation exchange column filled with spherical porous particles of styrene divinylbenzene copolymer. It is an ideal column for analyzing various amino acids. CXpak P-421 is used with an amino acid analyzer with post-column derivatization method.
Features
- IEC SP-825 has a strong sulfopropyl groups suitable for analysing relatively high molecular weight compounds such as proteins, peptides, DNA, and RNA
- IEC SP-FT 4A also has strong sulfopropyl groups with 2.7 µm non-porous base material for rapid analysis
- IEC CM-825 is packed with weak cation exchange resin with carboxymethyl functional groups
- Asahipak ES-502C is also has a weak cation exchange resin with carboxymethyl functional groups but with polyvinyl alcohol as the base material to offer different selectivity
- CXpak P-421 is a strong cation exchange column filled with spherical porous particles of styrene divinylbenzene copolymer
