HALO® C8 HPLC Columns from Advanced Materials Technology

All pictures shown are for illustration purpose only. Actual product may vary.
HALO® C8 is a high-speed, high-performance liquid chromatography column based on a new Fused-Core® particle design. The Fused-Core® particle provides a thin porous shell of high-purity silica surrounding a solid silica core. This particle design exhibits very high column efficiency. The densely bonded, extensively endcapped dimethyloctyl stationary phase of HALO® C8 provides a stable, reversed-phase packing that can be used for basic, acidic, or neutral compounds.
Available in 3 particle sizes:
- HALO® 2 µm columns can meet or exceed the performance of most non-core sub-2 µm columns at pressures one-third to one-half the back pressure under the same conditions
- HALO® 2.7 µm columns can meet or exceed the performance of most non-core sub-2 µm columns at pressures one-third to one-half the back pressure under the same conditions
- HALO® 5 µm columns match the performance of totally porous 3 µm columns at roughly half the back pressure under the same conditions
HALO® C8 HPLC columns from Advanced Materials Technology are based on Fused-Core® technology for high efficiency separations with low backpressures. The C8 phase is suited for a broad range of reversed phase applications and provides less hydrophobic retention compared to C18 phases. Available with 2 µm, 2.7 µm, and 5 µm for use with UHPLC or conventional HPLC equipment.
Features
- C8 stationary phase meets USP L7 classification
- Ideal for broad range of analytes
- Typical applications include cholesterol lowering pharmaceutical (statin) compounds, flavonoids, and lipid analysis of algal oil
- Less retentive than C18
- Better for ion-pair applications than C18
- Available with 2 µm, 2.7 µm, and 5 µm superficially porous particles
