Agilent Captiva Syringe Filters
All pictures shown are for illustration purpose only. Actual product may vary.
Agilent Captiva syringe filters remove particulates and are ideal for simple mechanical filtration. Particulates can cause high backpressure, retention-time shift, resolution loss, and shorter column life. By filtering samples before analysis, you can achieve longer column life, improve sample integrity, and maximize instrument performance.
Available in Premium or Econo ranges with a variety of membrane types and pore sizes to suit a wide range of sample types and applications.
- Premium syringe filters are supplied with a HPLC or LC-MS certificate that guarantees extremely low levels of observed extractables.
- Econofilters are a cost-effective option for busy, high-volume labs.
Features
- Premium filters are available in PTFE, nylon, PES, regenerated cellulose, cellulose acetate, and glass microfibre membranes
- Econfilters are available with PVDF, PTFE, nylon, PES, polypropylene and regenerated cellulose membranes
- Choose from 0.2 um or 0.45um pore sizes
- Use with Agilent disposable syringes to remove particulates from samples
- Captiva syringe filters have excellent flow rates and maximum sample loading capacity
- Syringe filters are constructed with the highest-grade virgin polypropylene or MBS housing
- Securely welded to prevent bursting and ensure sample integrity
- Layered filters have an integrated microfiber glass pre-filter and are used reduce the effort required to move highly particulate-laden samples through a filter and eliminate the need for sequential filtration
- Premium syringe filters are shipped with an HPLC or LC-MS Certificate that guarantees extremely low levels of observed extractables
- Econofilters are available in money-saving packs of 1000
Specifications
Captiva Premium Syringe Filter Specifications
Membrane | Type | pH Range | Key Properties |
PTFE | Hydrophobic | 1 to 14 | Broad chemical compatibility, highly resistant to strong acids and bases |
Cellulose Acetate | Hydrophilic | 4 to 8 | Very low protein binding |
Regenerated Cellulose | Hydrophilic | 3 to 12 | Broad chemical compatibility, also low protein binding. Suitable for most HPLC & UHPLC applications. |
Nylon | Hydrophilic | 3 to 14 | Broad chemical compatibility, excellent choice for organic solvents and samples with higher pH. |
PES | Hydrophilic | 3 to 12 | Compatible with aqueous solutions, and some organic solvents extremely low extractables and excellent flow rates; low protein binding. |
Glass Microfiber | Hydrophilic | 1 to 14 | Used as a pre-filter, broad compatibiltiy with organic solvents and strong acids. |
Glass Microfiber/Nylon | Hydrophilic | 3 to 14 | Best for highly particulate laden samples; compatible with most organic solvents. Not suitable for protein recovery applications. |
Glass Microfiber/PTFE | Hydrophobic | 1 to 14 | Best for highly particulate laden samples; broadest chemical compatibility, particularly with strong acids and bases. |
