Glycan analysis columns are typically HILIC columns designed for HPLC analysis of released and labeled N-glycans. Glycans are simple and complex carbohydrates (sugars) that influence protein structure/folding and transport. Regulatory authorities consider glycosylation to be one of the critical quality attributes and it must be characterised and quantified as part of the development process for a glycoprotein innovator, biosimilar or biobetter pharmaceutical.
