SiELC Newcrom A HPLC Columns

All pictures shown are for illustration purpose only. Actual product may vary.
SiELC Newcrom A is a mixed-mode HPLC column with negatively charged acidic ion-pairing groups at the terminal end of long ligand chains. This new generation of mixed-mode column moves the charged embedded functional group away from the silica surface enabling uniform surface charge density. Limitations such as restricted use of methanol in the mobile phase, poor peak shape, low efficiency of multi-charged molecules, high buffer concentration requirement and poor retention of non-charged molecules have been overcome with the Newcrom stationary phases.
Newcrom A is based on spherical silica particles with 100 Å pores and particle sizes of 3 µm and 5 µm. It has a longer ligand chain (100 Å) compared to Newcrom AH (25 Å). The longer ligand chains reduce the number of ionic groups over any given surface area, so Newcrom A has a lower ion capacity compared to Newcrom AH.
Features
- Mixed-mode column with negatively charged acidic ion-pairing groups at the terminal end of long ligand chains (100 Å)
- Improved retention of weak basic compounds through a cation-exchange mechanism
- Enhanced retention of multi-charged compounds
- Separation of acids by an ion-exclusion mechanism
- Retention of neutral compounds via a reverse-phase mechanism
- Low buffer concentration required to generate efficient ion-exchange
- Compatible with typical mobile phases for LC-MS
- Newcrom range also includes mixed-mode columns Newcrom AH, Newcrom B, and Newcrom BH
- Newcrom RI is a special reversed phase column with low silanol activity
- Guard columns connect directly to columns and do not require any additional holders
