The InertSustain AX-C18 from GL Sciences is a mixed-mode HPLC column designed for the effective separation of organic acids and anionic compounds. By chemically bonding both C18 (octadecyl) groups and tertiary amino functionalities to high-purity silica gel, it delivers both reversed phase and anion-exchange retention. This dual-mode interaction enhances selectivity and significantly improves retention of highly polar acidic analytes without the need for ion-pair reagents. Its ability to maintain strong retention and sharp peak shapes even at low salt concentrations makes it fully compatible with LC-MS workflows.
