Shodex SUGAR (Ligand Exchange) are polymeric-based HPLC columns for the analysis of saccharides, sweeteners, and sugar alcohols. They are ideal for use in the routine quality control in food analysis. The range includes:
- SUGAR SP0810 – ligand exchange column with lead (Pb2+) counter ions for sugar analysis
- SUGAR SC1011 – ligand exchange column with calcium (Ca2+) counter ions for saccharide analysis
- SUGAR SC1211 – combination of ligand exchange (Ca2+ counter ion) and HILIC mode for sugar alcohol separations
- SUGAR KS-800 Series – combination of ligand exchange (Na+ counter ion) and size exclusion modes for saccharide analysis
- RSpak DC-613 – ligand exchange (Na+ counter ion) and HILIC mode for separation of mono- and oligo-saccharides
- SUGAR SZ5532 – ligand exchange (Zn2+ counter ion) and HILIC mode for the separation of disaccharides or trisaccharides

SUGAR SP0810
- Separates saccharides by combination of ligand exchange and size exclusion mode
- Only water is required for the analysis of neutral sugars
- SP0810 fulfills USP L22 and L34 requirements
SUGAR SC1011
- Separates saccharides by combination of ligand exchange and size exclusion mode
- Only water is required for the analysis of neutral sugars
- SC1011 fulfills USP L19 and L22 requirements
EP SC1011-7F and USPpak MN-431 (special size of SUGAR SC1011)
- Fulfills mannitol analysis requirements of JP, USP, and EP methods
- Ca2+ modified ligand exchange chromatography column
- Only water is required for the analysis of neutral sugars
- Fulfills USP L19 and L22 requirements
SUGAR SC1211
- Separates elements by combination of ligand exchange and HILIC modes
- SC1211 is suitable for separating sugar alcohols
- SC1211 fulfills USP L19 and L22 requirements
SUGAR KS-801 and KS-802
- Separates mono- and oligo-saccharides by combination of ligand exchange (Na+) and size exclusion mode
- Only water is required for the analysis of neutral sugars
KS-803 to 804
- Suitable for separation of polysaccharides by size exclusion mode
- Can be used in combination with other columns e.g., KS-802 and KS-801
- Only water is required for the analysis of neutral sugars
- Fulfill USP L22 and L58 requirements
RSpak DC-613
- Separates mono- and oligo-saccharides by combination of ligand exchange (Na+) and HILIC mode
- Water and acetonitrile is used for the analysis
- DC-613 can analyze sugars without removing sodium salts in the sample
SUGAR SZ5532
- Column with zinc (Zn2+) counter ions
- Separates elements by combination of ligand exchange and HILIC modes
- Recommended for the separation of disaccharides or trisaccharides
- Fulfills USP L22 requirements
