SiELC Primesep 500 HPLC Columns

All pictures shown are for illustration purpose only. Actual product may vary.
SiELC Primesep 500 is a mixed-mode HPLC column with acidic ion-pairing groups embedded into long ligand chains. The embedded group is a carboxylic acid with a pKa of about 5. Primesep 500 provides enhanced retention of basic compounds through a cation-exchange mechanism with a mobile phase of pH > 5, separates acids by an ion-exclusion mechanism with a mobile phase of pH > 5, retains basic compounds at pH < 5, and retains neutral compounds by a reversed phase mechanism.
Features
- Primesep 500 mixed-mode column with carboxylic acid groups (pKa ~ 5) embedded into long ligand chains
- Enhances retention of basic compounds through a cation-exchange mechanism with a mobile phase of pH > 5
- Separates acids by an ion-exclusion mechanism with a mobile phase of pH > 5
- Retains basic compounds, like any reverse-phase column, at pH < 5
- Retains neutral compounds by reverse-phase mechanism
- Typical mobile phases are based on acetonitrile, water, and an acidic buffer
- Offers mobile phase compatibility with LC-MS
- Resistant to dewetting in 100% aqueous mobile phase
- Scalable from capillary to prep
- Guard columns connect directly to columns and do not require any additional holders
