Thermo Scientific Reacti-Therm & Reacti-Vap

The Reacti-Therm Sample Derivatisation System is a modular system designed to support a wide range of small-scale reactions, including derivatisation, sample incubation, evaporation, and protein hydrolysis. Developed by Thermo Scientific, this system integrates precise heating, stirring, and evaporation functionalities to deliver consistent and reliable results across varied applications.

The Reacti-Therm Heating/Stirring Module is equipped with dry block heaters that provide uniform and stable heating across a wide temperature range of 10 – 200 °C. It is available in four configurations: single- or triple-block formats, with options for either heating only or combined heating and stirring, allowing users to tailor the setup to specific laboratory requirements. This module is particularly well-suited for a range of applications, including general sample incubation and evaporation in various tube and vial sizes, derivatisation reactions such as silylation, alkylation, and acylation for GC sample preparation, as well as protein and vacuum hydrolysis for amino acid analysis by HPLC.

The Reacti-Vap Evaporator Module, designed to complement the Reacti-Therm unit, facilitates efficient sample evaporation through the simultaneous or separate delivery of non-reactive, pressurised gas. Its precision-machined gas manifold is easily attached to the heating/stirring unit, and the tilting evaporating head provides straightforward access for needle installation and removal.

Together, the Reacti-Therm and Reacti-Vap modules form a flexible and efficient derivatisation system that supports a diverse set of analytical workflows in life science, environmental, and chemical laboratories. A full system configuration includes the Heating/Stirring Module, Evaporator, and various accessories such as Reacti-Blocks and Reacti-Vials, which can be selected based on specific application requirements.
