The Microlute® CSi ion exchange phases, SAX (strong anion exchange) and SCX (strong cation exchange), utilise Porvair Sciences' innovative composite silica technology to provide enhanced sample cleanup and analyte recovery. The SAX phase, featuring a positively charged quaternary amine functional group, is ideal for retaining weak acids (pKa > 3), while the SCX phase, with a negatively charged aromatic sulfonic acid group, effectively captures weak bases (pKa < 11). Both phases are available in a 96-well plate format, designed to provide uniform flow through each well, improving reproducibility and minimising variability in recovery. The robust porous structure of the Microlute® CSi enhances method consistency, making it automation-friendly and ideal for seamless method transfer in ion exchange SPE applications.
