Gilson CENTRY 101 Plate Centrifuge
The Gilson CENTRY 101 Plate Centrifuge is designed to improve the reliability of microplate-based workflows by minimising the risk of sample loss during centrifugation. Its patented swing-out rotor design ensures that microplates run vertically at speed, preventing contents from spilling while efficiently concentrating reaction components at the bottom of each well. The rotor carriers are angled at 75°, allowing plates to be loaded without sealing tape or caps, which is particularly beneficial for sensitive applications such as PCR. The centrifuge accommodates two plates and is compatible with most standard PCR plates and microplates.
Operating at up to 2,550 rpm (600 × g), the CENTRY 101 spins samples down in under 20 seconds, supporting rapid and repeatable processing. Safety and usability are enhanced by automatic stopping when the lid is opened and smooth deceleration to a complete stop within four seconds. With a compact footprint, the CENTRY 101 centrifuge is well suited for use in fume hoods and space-limited laboratory environments, making it a practical solution for busy benchtops.
